HND to KIX
On Wednesday morning, I woke up later than normal, got some of the wonderful Keio Plaza breakfast buffet and checked out of the hotel. Near the front desk, I ran into Crystal and Tina from Vancouver who are headed to Saitama. We exchanged e-mails and took some pictures. After that, I went to the ballroom to meet my Wakayama group as we were headed to the Haneda Airport to fly over to Kansai International where we would meet our supervisors.

After a delicious lunch at Haneda of soba and kakiage, it was time to board the plane. The ride across Japan give you a good lay of the land but I was in a middle seat so I could see too much of the geography. Thankfully it was a short one hour ride because it was certainly bumpy. Despite the short flight, we must have been served drinks at least three times!
At Kansai, I was greeted not only by Emi and my supervisor but also by Mac and Ben who are the recontracting ALTs at my BOE. It was nice to get such a warm welcome from them. After a 40 minute or so car ride, we got the Hidakagawa BOE where I started work. I couldn`t believe that my name was already on the door. I really felt welcommed. At the BOE, I met a few of my co-workers and got some tips about living and working here from my sempai, Mac and Ben.

After work, I went out with Emi, Mac and Kumashiro-san to drop off my stuff at the apartment. Then we went to Okuwa and Daiso in the Roman City mall in Gobo. After the groceries, we had a nice set meal of sushi, sashimi, miso soup, noodles and vegetables at a restaurant called Gormeo on the outskirts of Gobo. After such a full day, it was nice to just relax and unpack in the apartment.
